These cards...something new appears on them every week. This one in particular—[he holds up the World Memory Card]—piques my interest.

First a woman killing a child, and now this group talking about attacks on the city. Does anyone have any idea on what's going in these, or what they're talking about?

I have finished my report. You will find it written perfectly and succinctly on Miss von Karma's desk. I've also gone through and read the other murder cases and will be continuing my own investigation in regarding to Isabelle's Lightwood. Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to me do.

anyway! and Maka will be waiting around the place Kid specified then, leaning back on a nearby street lamppost.]

[and he's soon walking over, an arm raised in greeting.]

[she shakes her head] Don't worry about it, it wasn't too long.

So what's going on? This is the first time I've heard of any recent murders happening.

It happened about two weeks ago. Right around here...[walks over to where Isabelle's body used to be] was the victim's body. Standing above her body was a man named Kamui. He seemed rather interested in her hair, and refused to leave when I asked him to. Needless to say, there was a bit of a confrontation before he ran off.

[he still regrets not actually apprehending him back then. he had been so ill prepared.]

What was strange about the scene itself was that there were white feathers around the body, and a lock of her hair missing. The feathers have actually appeared in previous unsolved murders. There was also the murder weapon, but it proved useless in terms of determining the suspect.

[sighs.] I am hoping this Kamui may have noticed something else. If anything he attacked an officer, so we have to bring him in for that at the very least.

[and Maka follows, slowly circling around the area as if any evidence were still there; obviously there wasn't. she wouldn't have guessed a crime was ever committed right here. but she looks down, listening to Kid closely, thinking hard on his words.]

That's weird... You'd have to be all sorts of creepy to want the hair of someone who was just killed.

[a derisive huff; people involved in this sort of thing were never sane]

And feathers, too... That's the first I've heard of them, though. Anything like this is usually handled by the police, so of course, I don't know the details of these sorts of things... I don't know what they could mean. A hint on the killer's identity, or just some unusual way of taunting us? Either way, if this alone was a dead end, we gotta catch that one guy.

I've been wondering the same. I know we've faced our fair share of twisted souls, so I wouldn't put it past them to just leave the feathers behind as a sort of signature.

[he then looks back up at Maka.]

I know this may be difficult for you since you haven't felt the wavelength in question, but given the current population of Somarium, finding his soul may not be so difficult. First of all, Kamui is not human—he's a vampire. I wasn't able to pinpoint it before, but I assume that's because his soul is different than those found in our world. [like. Mosquito.] Secondly, it had a rather distinct, aloof characteristic about it.

Yeah... There's been some serial killers out there who have done stranger things.

[she also finally looks up; it's not like there's much to investigate here, anyway]

A vampire, huh... That should narrow it down by a lot. Well, not that I'm familiar with the vampire population around here or anything, but I guess if there were a lot of them, we'd know. Do you think you might have an idea where he'd generally be? There's two of us, but Somarium's still a pretty big city.

Unfortunately, I don't, and there's also the chance that he's moved around since that time. I was thinking we should start here in the village since it's a smaller area. Then we could work our way through the districts.

You think someone would be dumb enough to stick around near the crime scene? [a beat] ...Well, it never hurt to be thorough. And at least he isn't sticking so close that I can feel anything vampire-like from right here, so I'll give him credit for that much.

Given how large Somarium is, we shouldn't take any chances. It will be to our advantage of he we can catch him on a mistake.

Though I do wonder how many non-human residents are here.

I haven't met too many, personally, but they're out there. Maybe not enough to interfere with us though, if that's what you're worried about.

Hm, I see—[bring bring, there's his Dreamberry.]

...One moment.

[and he's talking to Edgeworth. ...from down there.]

-- Hm? ... ... [herp derp watching curiously then!]

[and a brief conversation later, he hangs up and turns to Maka with a rather pleased grin.]

We may be in a bit of luck. Mr. Edgeworth has informed of a possible suspect for the case: Kazutaka Muraki.

.. I'm not familiar with the name, but it's a step in the right direction... So who are we going after first?

He said I should stop by his office to retrieve the transcript. [a beat as he thinks.]

Perhaps we could kill two birds with one stone, as the saying goes. If you don't mind, we could search for Kamui's soul while heading over to the police station. I don't know much about this Muraki fellow, either, so this transcript may help.

[nods] Alright. May as well go with what we know best, first... It's not like either of them would be able to make a getaway out of the city and out of our reach.

Unless they fled out to the desert for some reason. [he found it unlikely, though that recent "vision" or whatever you wanted to call it from the card did make him wonder about a few things.
