There has been a murder in Espoir—[more specific location goes here]—and I'm currently engaged with someone who may or may not be related to the crime.

He's not human, so proceed with caution.

[it was brief, but it would work for now.]

[note: he probably won't respond since he's still "fighting", but feel free to use this post as a kind of police network post to spare F-list spammage.

NOTE: No matter how the thread goes (with or without police intervention), Kamui is going to end up running away. So keep in mind that he's going to be a fugitive on the lam and should not be caught! ...Yet, anyway~]

[ Harry hangs up and before long he makes it back to Isabelle's remains. He swallows to keep the bile down. There's something about magic that doesn't quite prepare you for this. ]

[Kid was already there, crouching down by Isabelle's head. there was one thing that had bothered him.

when he heard Harry, he only glanced up at him before refocusing his attention back to the scene.]

He was reaching out, as if to touch her hair. But why...?

[ Harry forced himself to move closer. This feeling was all too familiar. Seeing someone you knew dead.

He crouched down on the other side of Kid and used his wand to help shed some light on the situation, but something else caught his attention first. ]

[ He stood back up and went over to several white things scattered around her. Reaching down he picked one of them up. ]

Feathers...

[ Oh Javert was NOT going to like this. ]

[Kid raised his gaze when he saw the wand. ...curious. but he then turned to what had caught Harry's attention and stood, walking over.]

...Feathers? [glancing at Harry.] Does this mean anything to you? [some sort of signature? or was he supposed to now expect some sort of white winged creature had killed this poor girl?]

Feathers have been at all the crime scenes.

[ He looked over at Kid. The wheels in his own head were spinning trying to figure things out. ]

But as far as I know there's no one in Somarium that has wings.

[Kid had heard about the previous murders, but he still had yet to fully go over those files. he made a mental note to check them once they returned to the main headquarters.]

No I haven't put out anything yet.

[ But they were going to have to speak with Kamui somehow. ]

I don't think anyone else has mentioned the feathers either, so I doubt someone's just copying them.

I'm going to have to research into the other crimes, but what can you tell me about them? How many, when, where.

There were three murders before this.

The first was a boy the rest were all girls.

[ He drops the feather letting it float back to the ground. ]

All of them had white feathers near them. We don't have a lot of evidence to go off of but most have mentioned a figure in white, at least those who can remember the bits and pieces they remember once they got back.

[pacing a bit as he thinks.]

Were they all killed in the same manner?

No.

It's been different every time. Just the feathers are the same.

White feathers... Except for the first, all female. And no suspects at all. [could this person really be that much of a mystery? were they even dealing with someone not native of Somarium? the possibilities were endless, and he was running off too few of information.]

I'm starting to doubt the man we encountered is the one, but I have a feeling he noticed something that we missed.

You may be right, but he's still dangerous.

[ Harry had a feeling that guy wasn't going to let himself be caught easily.

He turned back to Isabelle and held his wand over her slowly going over the body to see what he could see.]

Yes, it would be better if he was brought in for questioning.

[and there's the wand again.] ...Is that really a magic wand? [well it looked like one anyway.]

[ Harry looks up, before smiling slightly despite the situation. He always forgets others aren't used to seeing one of these. ]

Yeah. It is.

[well not quite a witch, and Harry definitely had a human soul.]

I can't say I've seen anyone actually use one before, not even the witches. [his tone is idle as his eyes scan the now lighted area. something catches his eye.] Bring the light closer here. [he once again moves back to Isabelle's hair—it had really bothered him, all right?—but now he could see what Kamui may have noticed. even more so given Kid's personality.]

Do you see something missing?

[ He moves the light over when Kid asks him, but he doesn't notice the missing lock right away. Had it not been such a long piece considering the length of her hair, he may not have noticed it at all. ]

Whoever it was took some of her hair.

Yes. [of course, now was not the time to note how off-centered it was...but it was. it was actually one of the main reasons why Kid was able to notice it so quickly. for something like to be so horrendously out of place—for once, his OCD for perfection and symmetry was proving useful.]

Do you know if the other victims had a lock of hair removed?

I don't believe so, but...

[ He also couldn't see why Isabelle would purposefully remove a lock of hair like that. ]

I don't think Isabelle would have done this on her own. Whoever did this must have wanted it for something.

...A trophy, perhaps? [it's the only thing he could think of. he was examining the body to see if anything else was out of the ordinary. he was so focused on the body, he failed to notice the hammer lying nearby.]

Maybe...I'm not sure if anything was taken from the others though.

[ He still didn't think this was a copy cat though. He stood and looked around the body again hoping for a clue. ]

[ He pointed his wand towards the bloodied hammer. No doubt that was the what to Isabelle's murder. ]

We'll have to re-examine the past cases, then. It could be an important clue.

[blinks before standing and taking a few steps toward it to examine.] Most likely the murder weapon. I doubt we'll find anything off it, but there might be something.

I don't suppose you have a back or something do you?

Someone else could get more from it than I could, but we shouldn't touch it.

[ Harry knew that at least from police shows and such. ]

Unfortunately, I do not, so we should wait for the forensics team to arrive. I believe they handle with gathering the evidence.

Still, the fact that it was left behind bothers me. Was it deliberate? A taunt at the police? Or is he getting sloppy?

[ Harry could hope it was the latter but somehow he had a feeling it was closer to the former. ]
